Hinckley Canalside WI was established in 2011 and has a membership of nearly 110 people. Each time we meet we have a speaker or demonstration\activity as well as tea and cake.

We are a very social WI and also have regular groups as well as one off events such as charity work, theatre trips and other escapades. We have even abseiled off St Mary’s church!

But we’re not all about flower arranging and lemon drizzle cake. Have a look below at some of the activities we do!

Dear Members,

Gatherings of over six people in England are currently unlawful due to the pandemic. While

the Government has made some exemptions, WI meetings are not considered exempt from

‘The Rule of Six’.

WI meetings of more than six people cannot take place, even in a COVID-19 secure

community facility.

Sadly, this means that Canalside WI will not be resuming physical meetings for the

foreseeable future.

However, I am pleased that we can offer you a monthly WI meeting on Zoom, on the first

Wednesday of the month, and an interim programme of speakers has been organized. I will

email speaker, meeting ID and password details to you each month.

Remember that there are a range of excellent resources available on My WI – the link to this

national website is at the bottom of the home page on this website.

The link to the Leicestershire and Rutland Federation website is also on our home page.

Do take care of yourselves.

Best wishes, Mandy.
